Ministry of Public works, Reconstruction and Housing Southwest state of Somalia has today concluded 3-days workshop on Pre-Tender Training. The Objective of the training was to create awareness on ILO’s Ethics, Procurement procedures, and theoretical knowledge in construction and supervision of road construction works using cobblestone paving as the basic design and use of employment intensive methodology in the execution.
The Workshop was part of Capacity Building for Public Sector Technical Staff and Private Sector Contractors for the Project Titled: Creating decent work opportunities for Somali IDPs, Returnees and Host Communities through employment-intensive infrastructure improvement”

- Introduction to EIIP concepts and Cobblestone Technology.
- Community Engagement, Project management, environmental, social and safety issues.
The Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing- Southwest State of Somalia H.E Mohamed Ali Hassan in his concluding remarks encouraged the Pre-qualified Contractors to be part of the infrastructure development in baidoa district. He urged the Pre- qualified Contractors to focus on building good quality roads for future sustainability if even the opportunity in this project.
